“A lot of women who make it to leadership positions say the power of their network is extremely important. There were at least three women who moved into new positions based on the connections they made from last year’s conference.”
“This boutique destination conference gives women the opportunity to have real conversations critical to achieving real success. A multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of conference content allows participants to dive into the conference’s main pillars of focus: Accelerate Growth, Balance Life, Inspire Change and Connections that Matter. Inspirational talks, actionable workshops and intimate networking opportunities, move conversations outside of the normal boundaries of the typical conference event.”
“When it doesn’t exist, start it. When your hands are full, ask for help. And whatever you do, be sure that your networks, informal and formal, contain some people who believe, not in the myth of the self-propelled rising star, but in the rising tide that lifts all boats.”
“Five years after getting off the ground, B.C.-based Bluebird Strategy, a boutique marketing and events firm, has been a driving force behind some 40 events, festivals and conferences. But its ambitious founder, Heather Odendaal, has always seen success as more than just business expansion — growth has to happen on a personal level too.”

INAUGURAL CONFERENCE UNITES INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN IN WHISTLER
WNORTH Conference connects women on the rise who have corporate leadership goals.
WHISTLER, B.C. March 12, 2015 – WNORTH brought together a group of more than 100 dynamic and inspiring women in Whistler, British Columbia on March 6, 2015.
“WNORTH has created something extraordinary. The conference was a professionally executed blend of leading edge business ideas and deep personal connection. Inspiring ideas, inclusivity, positive energy – that’s WNORTH. See you next year!” shared speaker, Pam Goldsmith-Jones, and former Mayor of West Vancouver.
The WNORTH team, and the 15 guest speakers orchestrated the incredible 1-day business conference, which focuses specifically on the challenges facing women as they rise through their careers. The conference is structured to address 4 pillars that are essential to achieving this success; Accelerated Growth, Inspirational Change, Balance Life, and Connections that Matter. With a focus on community outreach and engagement, WNORTH partnered with the Whistler Chamber of Commerce to provide a grant, which allowed 3 local applicants to attend the event.
Both speakers and attendees were eager to share their views on the success of the event “As a speaker at WNORTH, I was thoroughly impressed with the caliber of women who attended, representing the middle of the career ladder through to the top. This, in turn, elevated the conversations that took place both from the stage as well as informally between the attendees. Significant connections and learnings were made. I highly recommend this event!” Jill Earthy, Director BC & Yukon Futurpreneur explained.
Attendee Joanna Johnstone, Digital Content Manager at Arc’teryx Equipment echoed these sentiments by adding that “The WNORTH team delivered what was a really ‘eye-opening’ experience – I had a few preconceptions about the event thinking that it might be a bit too ‘girl power’, but instead I found it to be a really remarkable day with some very inspirational keynote speakers and dynamic participants. I truly had an amazing time and am already telling the other ‘dynamic’ women in my life that they should come to next year’s event”.
The success of the inaugural WNORTH means that it will be returning in the spring of 2016, and Founder, Heather Odendaal, explained, “We have been in talks with keynote speakers from New York, London and Hong Kong. We have also built national & international partnerships with like-minded women’s networks which will bring together a high-caliber and engaged group of attendees from across Canada, US and beyond next year”
